 Bergamasca IGT Cabernet

 

This Cabernet Sauvignon is made to exalt the fruit characteristic of this grape variety, which is one of the varieties used in Valcalepio Rosso blend. Medium plum colour, attractive, clean, and complex, this wine offers rich aromas of classic spice, black currant, ripe cherry and blackberry, nicely accompanied by a pleasant palate feeling, medium body and soft tannins. Very wellbalanced, long-lasting and pleasant.
Grape Variety : Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vineyard : The grapes for this wine are grown on the slopes of vineyards situated on the hills outside Bergamo.
Vinification : the carefully selected hand harvested grapes are crushed and destemmed as soon as possible. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. A short maceration during the winemaking process is used to extract colour and soft tannins, and to preserve the fruity perfume. The wine then spends a relatively long time on the lees prior to bottling, and remains 3 months in bottle before release.
